It has been a busy time at Melbourne Cooking Clases in recent months as we have been working to put together a new category of events within the business. So it is great to be finally be letting you all know about our new Restaurant Private Dining.
We are working in partnership with many of Melbourne?s top chefs and restaurants to create a unique selection of hosted dinners in private dining rooms.?
Our restaurant partners include award winning establishments such as Cumulus Inc, The European, Circa, La Luna, Bar Lourinha and Casa Cuiccio.?Each dinner is hosted by an expert from the Melbourne food and wine scene including Max Allen, Wendy Hargreaves and Kyla Fitzpatrick.

Bar Lourinha ? restaurant private dining ? $195.00pp
Join your host Max Allen at Bar Lourinha?s private dining room (The Chapel) for a Spanish/Portuguese inspired feast. Head chef and co-owner Matt McConnell is inspired by numerous travels through the Iberian Peninsula, so expect serious food and flavours in a casual setting.?Start with a cracked green olives and spiced almonds over a welcoming drink before diving headlong into shared platters of yellow tail kingfish ?pancetta? with ?lemon oil, cantimpalo chorizo and the awesome spiced chickpeas with spinach. Bar Lourinha?s chefs will then get to work creating paella Valenciana before your very eyes. The final touch is Matt?s amazing blood orange crema with burnt orange caramel, followed by a selection of cheese.
Casa Ciuccio ? restaurant private dining ? $195.00pp
The vibey Casa Ciuccio situated on the city?s Fitzroy fringe.?Start with a drink in the first floor bar before moving onto the main event, a feast of food from chef Matt McConnell in the private dining room. Matt has devised a beautiful sharing menu based on his love of Spanish, Portuguese and Mediterranean flavours. ?Start with the awesome anchovy montadito and ocean trout bandarellas. The feast then continues with mussels and chorizo, pancetta, followed by coal pit roasted Angus short rib, radicchio, shaved fennel and radish salad plus baby potatoes. To finish there are two treats to enjoy, a selection of specialty cheeses and the wicked dulce de leche cream pot and peanut praline. Each course is also matched with specially chosen wines.
The European ? restaurant private dining ? $215.00pp
The European is a firm favourite with Melbournes dining public. This event is hosted in the gorgeous surrounds of the first floor Tea Rooms with views over Parliament house and Spring Street. The menu by executive chef Ian Curley ranges from entrees such as warm zucchini salad, fiore di burrata or duck & pork terrine with condiments and toasted baguette.?Main course is a choice of cotoletta of chicken with Italian coleslaw or roasted eye fillet with Bourguignon garnish. Desserts?are a difficult decision between lemon tart with vanilla cream or house made mascarpone parfait with poached rhubarb and strawberries. Finish with coffee, tea and almond biscotti. It includes a drinks package of sparkling, red and white wine, beer, soft drink and mineral water.
Max Allen?s wine dinner ? $220.00pp
Join your host Max Allen at the vibey Casa Ciuccio situated on the city?s Fitzroy fringe. Max and chef Matt McConnell have devised a menu which puts the food and wine of Spain and Portugal front and centre. Start with a drink in the first floor bar before moving into the Casa Ciuccio private dining room.?The multi-course sharing menu begins with Matt?s awesome anchovy montadito and ocean trout bandarellas. The feast them moves onto squid and chickpeas, plus the hot off the grill Northern king prawns with chilli salt and lime. Main course is the three hour coal pit cooked lamb shoulder with condiments and baby potatoes. To finish there are two treats to enjoy, a selection of specialty cheeses and the wicked dulce de leche cream pot and peanut praline.
La Luna ? restaurant private dining ? $240.00pp
La Luna?s head chef and owner Adrian Richardson has carved out a very special place in the Melbourne dining scene with his dedication to sourcing the best quality grass fed, dry-aged meat as well as hand-making the smallgoods at his Carlton North bistro.?Now you can share Adrian?s special banquet with fellow guests in the private dining room, matched with red and white wine, beer and mineral water. Start with some of Adrian?s handmade sausages, cured small goods, garlic and chilli prawns and house smoked salmon with cucumber and apple salad. Then for main course La Luna?s dry aged beef, 18 hour slow cooked lamb shoulder, crackling wrapped pork and beautiful seasonal vegetable side dishes and of course dessert or cheese to finish.
Cumulus Inc ? restaurant private dining ? $265.00pp
This beautiful four course banquet style menu is set in the contemporary Arc One gallery space surrounded by the latest exhibition. The meal is fully matched with a drinks package of sparkling, red and white wine, beer and mineral water.The menu created by Cumulus executive chef Andrew McConnell starts with three stunning canap?s ? perhaps raw king salmon with sorrel, spanner crab, avocado & dill or buffalo mozzarella, smoked tomato & basil.?Then it?s time to enjoy shared entrees, main courses and side dishes.?Famous Cumulus Inc dishes include jamon serrano and wagyu bersola, roast duck with toasted grains, walnuts and plum, cracked wheat & freekeh salad, plus the amazing slow roast lamb shoulder. Dessert is a choice of milk sorbet, soft chocolate, caramel & oats or poached meringue, strawberries and cream.

Join your host Kyla Kirkpatrick, Champagne expert and food lover, at the award winning Circa private dining room for a stunning five course feasting menu with matched wines.?Circa is one of this city?s top rated dining rooms with unparalleled food and service.?Guests will enjoy a menu of oysters with native lime migonette, starters such as crispy lamb ribs and sticky pork salad with green mango & chilli caramel. Main course includes organic Black Angus rib eye with soy caramelised shallots and exotic mushrooms, rice crusted Milawa chicken, with young vegetables and WA Patagonian tooth fish.
